Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Visits CREC Yuen Long South Site Formation Project for Exchange

On January 10, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers organized a team of engineers to visit CREC Yuen Long South Site Formation Project. More than 30 professional engineers from over ten government agencies, supervision institutions  and contractors attended, including the West Expansion Office of the Civil Engineering Development Department, Drainage Services Department, AECOM and Arup.

The delegation visited the lightweight concrete technology and UTBM. The project team introduced the project background and basic information, focusing on lightweight concrete technology and construction methods.They also demonstrated and tested its advantages including light weight, good thermal insulation, excellent seismic performance and convenient construction, and answered questions on site.

The delegation from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers praised the project's innovative materials and construction methods such as lightweight concrete and UTBM. They hoped to maintain close interaction with the enterprise, learn from each other, jointly promote engineering and technological progress in the Hong Kong SAR, and make greater contributions to the SAR's infrastructure construction.
