Valencia Station Commences Operations in Chile
Source: Date:2026年03月02日

On January 31 local time, Valencia Station, constructed by China Railway Tunnel Group, held its opening ceremony in the city of Quilpué, Valparaíso Region, Chile. As the first railway project built by a Chinese enterprise in Chile, the station’s completion and commencement of operations mark a significant achievement in China–Chile railway transportation cooperation.

After entering operation, Valencia Station is expected to serve approximately 600,000 passenger trips annually. It will provide nearby residents with a safer, more punctual, greener, and more convenient public transport option, effectively easing traffic pressure on major roads during peak hours and significantly enhancing regional commuting efficiency and travel experience.

During construction, the project team proactively planned and meticulously organized works in response to the high risks of construction under existing-line conditions, short effective working windows, and intensive multi-process cross-operations. Through strengthened coordination among all parties, the project was implemented in a safe and controllable manner and progressed in an orderly way, ultimately achieving high-quality delivery on schedule.
