Given the super‑long distance and high abrasiveness of the project, the TBM features a specialized pipe jacking shield machine design. It initially employs a pipe jacking mode for single jacking, and once the jacking force reaches its limit, it switches to the TBM mode to maintains construction progress, effectively fulfilling the requirements of long‑distance tunneling tasks. During the actual construction process, the machine advanced 1,136m in pipe jacking mode before reaching its maximum jacking force. It then switched to the TBM mode to complete the remaining 451m, ultimately achieving a breakthrough for the entire project line.
