Functions
The battery-powered locomotive transports the launch-end formwork sections one by one to the cross-passage location. The tunnel boring machine and the launch sleeve are welded to the cross-passage portal, followed by grouting to maintain pressure. The equipment is then wired and commissioned, after which tunneling proceeds using the earth pressure balance method. Precast segmental rings are transported to the main machine via a crane system, assembled, and advanced in stages. The receiving-end carriage is moved to the receiving position in advance; the sleeve is welded to the portal, and inert grout is injected. The equipment advances into the sleeve, and the launch and receiving portals are grouted and reinforced. Once reinforcement is complete, the equipment at both the launch and receiving ends is removed from the site.
